In my house, Sunday is a day for home and family. It's a day where you spend it doing your favourite hobby and setting yourself for a successful week. While I don't always get around to completing the full reset list, I try and do as many as I can so I wake up on Monday feeling calm and prepared.
Keep up the hydration
There is nothing worse than starting your week with a headache and feeling drained from not drinking enough water over the weekend. Make sure you keep your hydration up and if you're someone who struggles to drink water while they're working (guilty!), use the weekend to catch up.
This could look like drinking a glass water first up in the morning, or making a pitcher of water with lemon slices or cucumber.
It's also a really helpful idea to track your water consumption in your digital planner. As soon as you drink a glass of water or fill up your water bottle, go and mark it down!
Home reset
I love starting off the week with a clean space, and I'm sure you do to. This could be as simple as packing away the loose items around your home and doing a quick vacuum.
If you struggle with motivation around cleaning, start with a 2 minute task of making your bed. Then work your way up to cleaning the counter tops and keep going from there until you feel your space has been reset.
It always a very nice touch to freshen up a space with fresh flowers.
Do some laundry
The feeling of waking up on Monday with an empty wash basket and a closet full of clean clothes is one of life's most simplest pleasures.
Use this day to catch up on your washing and to help you manage it building up. It's a good habit to get into doing a small load everyday but make Sunday your day to really check that box.
Clean the bathroom
I won't lie, I hate cleaning my bathroom. It's the smallest room in my house and requires the most cleaning. It's the task I dread the most on a Sunday (and sometimes I even do my husband's jobs so he'll do the bathroom!), but it's a task that makes you feel a lot better when it's done.
If you're not up for a full clean, take 10 minutes to wipe down the vanity, clean the mirror, and definitely clean the toilet. If you're feeling motivated after that, clean your shower screen and remove all that soap scum off your tiles before it becomes a bigger problem. Pop some music on or Podcast to help make this task a bit more exciting!
Do the dishes
I am one of these people that hates things sitting on the kitchen so unloading the dishwasher or finishing off those remaining dishes first up in the morning is a great way to start the reset. I always find that if my kitchen is clean, my space feels instantly better and when it comes time to make dinner every utensil and bowl is ready to use and your dishwasher is waiting for you to stack it again.
Grocery shopping and meal prepping
Start your week with fresh produce by grocery shopping on a Sunday. Make sure you meal plan before hand so you have everything you need for the week ahead.
If you're someone super on the planning train, cut up veggies and meat on a Sunday afternoon and pack them ready to go in your fridge for later in the week.
Stretch your legs
Go for a walk and use this time to check in with yourself. Put on your favourite tunes and feel yourself relax outside in the sunshine and fresh air. If it's a rainy or stinking hot day you can still get your body moving by doing some slight yoga.
Doing some sort of exercise helps with your mental health and having a clear mind and happy body is a another great way to start your week.
Make your space cosy
After you've completed all your productive tasks for your Sunday Reset, it's now time to unwind and do what you like doing. It's currently winter here so wrapping myself in my Oodie, with a cup of tea, and a good book has been my go to.
Plan your week
While you're all cosy in your freshly reset space, take some time to plan out your week. Use your planner or weekly dashboard to set out tasks and events and prepare yourself ahead of time.
Unwind and give yourself a pat on the back
You did it! You've freshened up your space, been productive, planned ahead, and are now ready to truly unwind and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
